1:1 Coaching

You can feel better.

People come to me to address a wide range of issues, and most of them finish our work saying the same thing: “I didn’t know how much better I could feel.”

What brings you to a functional nutritionist for nutrition coaching may not be the thing that’s doing the most harm to your well-being. Humans can be a little too adaptable for their own good; most of us adjust to the problems brought about by hormonal imbalances, blood sugar issues, skin conditions, digestive issues, food sensitivities, and a host of other obstacles.

You really can feel better.

My approach

Wellness doesn’t work like a recipe; there’s no list of health instructions that will give similar results to everyone who tries it. Your path to wellness has to be tailored to you. I’m a certified, data-driven, passionate nutritional therapist who has struggled with her own health and come out the other side healthier, more energetic, and much smarter about how my body works.

Your body can give some tricky signals. That rash that keeps popping up? Could be a sign of digestive issues. The extra ten pounds you’re suddenly carrying? Might be a symptom of a hormonal imbalance. I’m the detective who finds the root causes of the issues keeping you from feeling your best, and I’m the enthusiastic problem-solver who works with you to overcome them. And most people are relieved to know that I’m never the person who smacks an ice cream cone out of your hand. Lasting change means you get there at your pace.

1-1 Nutrition consulting
I have struggled for years with IBS and Celiac. The symptoms of both are overlapping and confusing. Bev helped me understand the interplay with my issues and ways to feel better through food and targeted supplements, despite my multiple diagnoses. I’m still on the journey but feel much better and more confident with Bev’s help. My advice for anyone struggling with GI issues is to find someone you trust, like Bev.

What to expect from coaching

Your needs and wants guide how we work together, but most often our work together looks something like this:

Initial consultation: You’ll fill out a health questionnaire, and in a 90-minute meeting, we’ll discuss what’s in it. I’ll get a sense of your concerns, and you’ll get answers to a lot of questions, including whether we’re a good fit. If you’re like most of my clients, you’ll also find a lot of aha! moments from this conversation.

Lab testing: We’ll get the data we need to start identifying the root causes of your symptoms. I have partnerships with labs all over the country, and a simple blood draw and/or stool sample give us details we need to start connecting the dots.

One-on-one sessions: I recommend a three-to-six-month engagement, which includes up to six appointments wherein we evaluate your progress, I answer your questions, and we tweak your approach where necessary. There’s a healthy dose of encouragement and support in these sessions, too, because who doesn’t enjoy a friendly boost? Especially when making a lifestyle shift.

Here’s What I helped my clients accomplish in the last few years:

Start college with fewer digestive issues (and looking forward to a little pizza)

Reduce Fatigue in order to enjoy the physical activities she missed

Lose 20 lbs in time for her son’s wedding

Understand and eliminate food sensitivities—eating out is SO much easier

Eliminate H. Pylori

Reduce/eliminate insomnia

Reduce hot flashes and other menopausal symptoms—who wouldn’t want that?

Put together the diet that will give her more energy

Eliminate GERD (really bad heartburn) and toss out those prescription meds
